Boat Rentals
Come visit our Lakeside Park Watersports Center on the
shores of Alta Lake!
Of the five fresh water lakes in
Whistler, Alta Lake is the most popular for boating
recreation. In summer the water is warm for swimming and
offers a wonderful boating experience for novice to
experienced paddlers. The views of the surrounding mountains
from Lakeside Park are spectacular and Alta Lake is the
start point for all River of Golden Dreams excursions.

Canoes are the classic Canadian boat. Ours are very wide and stable, so they are difficult (but possible) to tip. You'll need some good teamwork to steer a canoe. They catch the wind on the lake more than kayaks do, but they can hold 2-3 people and more gear.

Single kayaks are great fun for people of all ages. They're the tippiest boat we rent but also the most agile. It's easy to learn and there's no teamwork necessary!

Double kayaks are easy to figure out, so they're a great boat for first-time paddlers (on the lake!). Since the back person is close to the middle, it is possible for an experienced paddler to control the boat with an inexperienced paddler in front.

Paddle boats are our easiest boats to operate. They're very stable and lots of fun! Most kids can use these boats by themselves (with parental supervision, of course).

Take our aluminum row boat out for a fishing trip! There are plenty of 3-5lb trout (Cut-throat and Rainbow) on Alta Lake. On most summer days they're in deep water far from shore, but a rowboat can bring you right to them.
