Self-Guided Trips on the River of Golden Dreams
The River of Golden Dreams is an ever-changing waterway that provides a different experience each time you paddle. This is what keeps people coming back year after year. Experience the awe with the self-guided trip.
In the spring (May to early July) water levels are higher and the river moves faster. To better enjoy your river experience we recommend a moderate to high level of paddling experience or experience paddling on moving water during this time of year.
Once high water season ends (early July to mid-August), the river becomes a perfect place for guests of all experience levels to paddle the winding waterway. Orientation sessions are offered prior to departures to ensure you are properly prepared for your trip.
Low water season can begin as soon as early August but typically runs from mid August through the fall. At this time of year the river is a more active trip. Multiple beavers dams throughout the journey means you may have to get out of your boat a few times. Paddling is still great in-between the dams and fun ‘water slides’ exist through them if you aim your boat right.
