Wildlife at Twilight River of Golden Dreams Paddling
Twilight Trips take you down the River of Golden Dreams at dusk, when the setting sun paints the mountains in shades of crimson and gold and the river comes alive with wildlife. As evening approaches, beavers emerge from their lodges and begin their busy work of gathering branches and maintaining their dams. Cranes stand watch along the riverbanks, scanning the water for their next meal.
With fewer people on the water, you’ll often have the river almost entirely to yourself. One of the most common questions we hear is, “Will we see a bear?” Bears are a regular sight along the River of Golden Dreams, and sightings of beavers, otters, eagles, osprey, mink, raccoons, fish, and a variety of birdlife are also common.
These special trips are offered for just six weeks each summer, from early July through mid-August, and often sell out well in advance. Group sizes are intentionally limited to minimize disturbance to the wildlife, creating a more intimate and memorable nature experience. If you’re looking for a close encounter with Whistler’s wild side, this is the trip for you.
Reservations recommended 2 weeks in advance.
